Did you do any DIY Projects or create any handmade items for your wedding?
We printed out our own pictures and got cheap frames for our reception decor.
What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?
We had a small wedding with just our family and closest friends there. After the ceremony, we had an intimate backyard dinner and reception. We then celebrated in downtown Nashville with everyone!
What is the most memorable moment of your day?
I would definitely have to say walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing my husband absolutely lose it when he turned around to see me.
What was the biggest thing you did to save money?
We tried to do everything in packages so we weren’t paying multiple different businesses. We saved a lot of money that way!
We kept it simple with decor and let the decor of the rental space make up the vibe! Peerspace was a great choice when doing this. Our vendor had a beautifully decorated space.
We also used plastic utensils and had friends bring drinks.
What was your biggest splurge?
The biggest splurge was my wedding dress! I’ve been looking forward to this day my entire life and I wanted to have the perfect dress.
What was your favorite detail?
Our reception space and the intimate dinner with family and friends will always be my favorite part (other than marrying the love of my life). I’m so glad that we made it a day that truly represented us and our down to earth ideals.
What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?
Stay on top of the planning process but don’t let it consume you. It can be really fun if you don’t fixate on everything being “perfect”.
Weigh out the things that are “must haves” and the things that you can go without. At the end of the day, your wedding is magical because of you and not the location or decorations. Don’t be afraid to ask family members to help with smaller details!
