Did you do any DIY Projects or create any handmade items for your wedding?

My sister-in-law and I picked out items from Hobby Lobby and even a yard sale to decorate the cake table at the ceremony.

What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?

Jared wore a Tennessee checkered tie to represent his love for the Tennessee Vols! My son helped my dad walk me down the aisle to give me away.

What is the most memorable moment of your day?

Taking pictures, laughing and enjoying the first moments together being married were the most memorable moments of our day.

What was your biggest splurge?

Our biggest splurge was the wedding venue!

What was the biggest thing you did to save money?

Even though our venue was the biggest splurge, they provided certain decorations, flowers, photography and our officiant.

What were your favorite details?

We chose East Tennessee for our spring weekend wedding because we live here and love the mountains.

One of our favorite details was the privacy the venue gave during the ceremony and while taking pictures.

How did you two meet?

We met on the dating app Bumble. I am from Kentucky, and he is from Tennessee. My parents own a business here in Tennessee and we matched on the app one weekend while I was in town. We talked for a week via phone before meeting in person. Three months later, I moved down to Tennessee, and we have been inseparable since.

What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?

Have fun planning it! It doesn’t have to be huge or expensive to feel like a fairytale dream wedding. Our wedding was stress-free, elegant and still gave me every vibe of being my fairytale dream wedding!

A special note from the photographer:

Sarah and Jared’s spring weekend wedding at Chapel in the Hollow was nothing short of magical, perfectly timed as the morning rain cleared up just before their special moment. They created a charming atmosphere by dressing the chapel in peach and lavender fabrics, complemented beautifully by our wildflower florals and the gentle glow of candles.

Sarah looked elegant in a simple sleeveless dress that she paired with classy white shoes adorned with ribbon ties. Both Sarah and Jared chose white gold rings to symbolize their union.

Adding to the festivities, they brought a “Just Married” sign for photos. Sarah’s mom, known for her Appalachian cooking classes in the area, lovingly created their wedding cake!
