Did you do any DIY Projects or create any handmade items for your wedding?

We made our own dessert and I did my hair and makeup!

What creative or personal aspects did you include in your wedding?

We chose a location that was my favorite hike and one my husband had never been to so, it was special to each of us!

We wanted some of our favorite foods and drinks to share throughout our day. We purchased beer from Fidens, our favorite brewery, made confetti cupcakes and stopped at a brewery for a relaxing lunch.

What is the most memorable moment of your day?

The most memorable moment of our day was saying our vows on top of a mountain with a stunning view of the Adirondack mountains covered in vibrant fall colors.

What was the biggest thing you did to save money?

We created a day that focused on just the two of us. We didn’t invite any guests which would have cost hundreds or thousands of dollars between food and a venue. We used nature as our backdrop and had a relaxing and adventurous day together, and enjoyed each other’s company in a stress-free way!

What was your biggest splurge?

Our photographer was our biggest splurge. Photos are super important to us so we hired someone who was experienced and delivered quality photographs. Pictures are the one thing we’ll have to remember our day by and the investment will last us the rest of our lives!

What were your favorite details?

I loved our flowers! Because they were dried flowers, they lasted all day regardless of the weather. I also get to keep them forever so they are now displayed in our home as a constant reminder of our wedding day.

What’s the best advice you have for planning your wedding now that you’re on the other side?

Remember why you are getting married in the first place. No one really cares about all the little details and some people don’t notice them at all. Plan a day that focuses on you and your partner and don’t sweat the small stuff! Your wedding day should be all about the love you and your partner have for each other, not putting on a show for your guests.
